Successful opening weekend for Yoga Den at Sanderson Arcade

16 July 2026

Yoga Den, an independent yoga and wellness studio founded in Morpeth in 2018, has opened the doors to its new home at Sanderson Arcade.

Founded by local yoga teacher Christie Harley, Yoga Den was created to make yoga inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of age, experience or ability.

Over the past eight years, the studio has developed into a supportive community hub, offering vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga alongside beginners’ sessions, chair yoga, pregnancy and postnatal classes.

The popular local business has relocated to a purpose-designed studio at Owen House, Sanderson Arcade, bringing a range of yoga and wellbeing sessions into the heart of Morpeth town centre.

The studio marked its opening weekend with a programme of free classes, giving visitors the opportunity to try a session and meet the team. Classes proved extremely popular, with strong attendance throughout the weekend.

As part of the launch celebrations, the studio also partnered with Central Bean, where visitors attending a Yoga Den class could enjoy 10% off drinks.

Adding to the celebrations, Central Bean also created three special matcha drinks exclusively for the launch.

Christie Harley, founder of Yoga Den said: “The opening weekend has been a great opportunity to welcome people into the new studio and introduce them to what Yoga Den offers.

“We’ve always wanted to create a calm and welcoming environment where people can make time for their wellbeing, and it was encouraging to see so many visitors taking part in the sessions.

“We’re looking forward to becoming part of the Sanderson Arcade community and continuing to grow Yoga Den in Morpeth.”

Erica Malpass, from the Sanderson Arcade management team said: “We’re delighted to see Yoga Den officially open at the Arcade following such a successful launch weekend.

“The studio is a wonderful addition to Sanderson Arcade, and we’re confident the studio will continue to be warmly welcomed by visitors and the wider Morpeth community.”

Yoga Den also hosts breathwork workshops, sound baths, retreats and holistic wellness events, with a focus on movement, mindfulness and wellbeing.

For anyone interested in trying yoga for the first time, Yoga Den will be hosting a beginners’ workshop on July 25th. The session will offer a welcoming introduction to yoga and is suitable for those with little or no previous experience.
