Santa is back! Morpeth prepares for a weekend of Christmas magic

Morpeth town centre is hosting a special weekend of festive fun this weekend – with the return of Santa Claus on Saturday (December 14th) and a special visit from his reindeers on Sunday (December 15th).
The team at Sanderson Arcade have partnered with Rutherford’s Department Store to deliver some special town centre festivities throughout December – including Hot Chocolate with Santa Claus.
Tickets for Hot Chocolate with Santa Claus are £2 each and can be purchased before the event from Central Bean at Sandersons Arcade. The visit takes place from 10:30pm to 12:30pm.
Rutherford’s are also supporting a festive visit from Santa’s reindeers at the Arcade on Sunday December 15th. The Reindeers will be in their special pen at the rear of the Arcade from10am-4pm.
Shoppers can also see the fabulous festive display at Sanderson Arcade, snap a selfie with the Christmas tree angel wings and visit Rutherford’s famous Christmas window.
The store has extended its opening hours to Sundays throughout December, including Sunday 15th and 22nd.
Centre Manager at Sanderson Arcade Lottie Thompson said: “We’re delighted to be working with Rutherford’s on some fabulous festive events in Morpeth. Our first visit from Santa last month was a great success and the children absolutely loved meeting Mr and Mrs Claus.
“We’d encourage parents to book early to secure a slot to enjoy a Hot Chocolate with Santa on Saturday December 14th.”
