Morpeth prepares for its monthly Farmers Market!

The team at Sanderson Arcade are looking forward to the town’s monthly Farmers Market which is due to take place on Saturday 1st of June from 9am – 3pm.  

This month’s market will host a variety of local traders with a great range of fresh produce - shoppers will also be entertained by Jodie Elliot who will be performing from 11am. 

Local traders at this month’s market include The Sauce Queen, Caribe Coffee, Murphys Kitchen, Bread and Roses, The Mad Jam Woman, Castle Bakery and For The Love of Game. 

Timefreezer are also returning to the Farmers’ Market this month with a great selection of jams and Kittys Ginger will also be setting up a stall at the market which will be filled with various delicious soft drinks. 

Other traders include Northumberland Poultry, Moorehouse Farm, Hadrians Game and Ridleys Fish and Game. A couple of other traders that are set to get you in the mood for the summer season are Geordie Bangers and Mazzeh Spice. 

There will also be craft stalls selling home-made items. The Silver Room will be returning with a great range of jewellery as well as Theresa Caravan with their stall filled with various craft items. Northern Ark will also be making an appearance, with a variety of plants.

The Farmers’ Market is hosted on the first Saturday of every month, Morpeth’s weekly market also takes place every Wednesday.

Sanderson Arcade Centre Manager, Joel Plumley, said: “We always look forward to the Farmers’ Market here at Sanderson Arcade and there’s a fantastic line up of traders at this month’s market as well as some great entertainment.” 

Morpeth Market is managed by Northumberland County Council and Sanderson Arcade, working in partnership with Morpeth Town Council, Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade and other local organisations through the Morpeth Market working group.

As part of the Love Your Local Market Campaign Northumberland County Council has launched a new scheme to encourage traders to take a stall at the region’s markets.
