23 December 2009
M&S and Oxfam in Morpeth have teamed up as part of a nationwide fundraising campaign.
Anyone donating an item of M&S labeled clothing to Oxfam will be given a £5 M&S voucher which is valid when you spend spend more than £35.
The M&S and Oxfam Clothing Exchange has been running since January 2008 and with the new store at Sanderson Arcade opening last month its an ideal opportunity for shoppers to recycling their unwanted items – and get money off the next time they shop at M&S. The vouchers can be used for clothing, homeware or beauty products in store.
The scheme has already raised £2 million across the country and Morpeth’s Oxfam manager Janice Bowden said it is proving very popular in the town.
She added: “It is a great idea, it gives us some great things we can sell and encourages people to get into the habit of recycling and it works very well.”
The Oxfam in Morpeth can be found at 27 Bridge Street, the telephone number is 01670 511 997.
