New Salon is a Cut Above for Morpeth Hairdressing School

17 April 2013

The popular Morpeth hair salon Jazz is unveiling a brand new look this spring alongside plans to link with one of the area’s leading hairdressing schools.

The salon moved to the Arcade when it first opened in November 2009 and has now relocated to larger first floor premises at Austin House at the centre. The 1,046 sq ft space unit has been transformed with a £35,000 makeover into two light and airy, modern salons for men and women.

And a special VIP launch event is planned at the salon on May 16th.

The move has given Jazz owner Paul Jackson room to expand and at the new salon he’s joining forces with another Morpeth hairdresser Michele Chambers – who has been running a City & Guild Training Centre in the town for more than eight years.

The new modern salon has been split into two – Jazz Hairdressing and Jazz 4 Men – allowing much more space for clients, Wi-Fi has also being fitted as well as a drinks station offering luxury hot drinks and cold beverages.

Jazz employs seven members of staff. But every Monday it will host students doing their City and Guilds qualifications in hairdressing – and they are already on the lookout for models for the students to work on.

The new look salon is being re-launched with funky new branding. A VIP event is also being held from 4pm to 6.30pm on Thursday 16th of May when guests will also be given a demonstration of the latest craze in hair products – Moroccan Hair Oil.

Paul said : “We are so excited about the new salon it looks fantastic and its great to be linking with Michele and her students here at Jazz.

“The salon is three times bigger and it looks great. It’s lovely to have so much more room for our clients now and really opens up the possibilities of other treatments and services we can look at.”

Medi Parry, Centre Manager at Sanderson Arcade said:  “The new Jazz salon looks great and we wish Paul and his team all the very best in their new premises.”
