Love is in the air at Morpeth’s February Farmers’ Market this weekend

Love is in the air this week in Morpeth as the town prepares for a special Valentine’s themed market this Saturday (3rd February)

The first monthly Farmers’ Market of 2018 will welcome a host of local traders and their perfect Valentines gifts, including “From Me To You” selling the finest Belgian Chocolate slabs in various flavours and even chocolate pizzas!

The team from Sanderson Arcade will be handing out free heart-shaped balloons and there will be entertainment from acoustic guitarist Matt Dunbar from 11am.

Other fantastic traders joining the market include the old favourites Geordie Bangers, Northumberland Cheese Company, Ridleys Fish and Jimmy the Lamb Man. 

Sanderson Arcade Centre Manager Joel Plumley said: “We are spreading the love in Morpeth this weekend with our romantic themed Farmers’ Market - come down and find the perfect gift for your loved one from a selection of fantastic local traders!”

The monthly Morpeth Farmers’ Markets are held on the Market Place on the first Saturday of each month running from 9am – 3pm and the Morpeth weekly Market takes place every Wednesday from 9am – 3pm.

Morpeth Market is managed by Northumberland County Council and Sanderson Arcade, working in partnership with Morpeth Town Council, Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade and other local organisations through the Morpeth market working group.

This year’s annual Morpeth Food & Drink Festival has been confirmed to take place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October. Trader applications will be available soon!
