Central Bean serve up a fresh approach to coffee at Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade!
8 October 2009
The North East’s newest coffee house brand Central Bean will be serving up it’s unique blend of great tasting coffee at Sanderson Arcade when the centre opens next month.
The company already has a coffee house at Gallowgate in Newcastle and is expanding with two new outlets – one at Jesmond and the other at the £32 million Sanderson Arcade development due to open on November 12th.
Central Bean is the brain child of the directors of the Fluid Group, David King and Ollie Vaulkhard, best known for owning and operating bars and restaurants.
David and Ollie joined a six strong delegation to Seattle in a quest to find the perfect cup of coffee before embarking on their first coffee house which opened in January 2008.
Now they’re looking forward to bringing their fresh and funky coffee house to Sanderson Arcade in a new 1400 sq ft unit which had previously been earmarked for Starbucks.
David said: “We were asked to come and take a look at Sanderson Arcade and as soon as we saw the scale and the quality of the development here we were definitely interested in having a Central Bean here.”
The business partners became connoisseurs during their fact finding trip to Seattle to find out what makes the perfect cup of coffee.
Ollie added: “We buy beans from Indonesia, Brazil and Mexico and the blend is then roasted for us in Sheffield, the way you roast the beans is definitely what makes the difference and what makes a good cup of coffee.”
Central Bean prides itself on offering a great cup of coffee in relaxing surroundings.
As well as great tasting coffee the Central Bean at Sanderson Arcade will also serve freshly made sandwiches, paninis and salads, as well as mouth watering muffins and cakes.
Work starts next week fitting out the new coffee shop which will have the same style and layout as the Newcastle outlet. Customers will be able to sit outside overlooking the new landscaped piazza area.
Managing Director of the developers Morpeth II Mark Dransfield, said: “We are delighted to be working with another great North East company and welcoming Central Bean to Sanderson Arcade. We have been extremely impressed by the quality of their coffee house in Newcastle, and more importantly they make a great cup of coffee.
“From very early on we set out to produce a good line up of national and regional retailers so we can create a really unique shopping experience at Sanderson Arcade.”
Morpeth’s new Central Bean will also have free wi-fi and laptop sockets and will open seven days a week.
The company is now recruiting for baristas for the Sanderson Arcade coffee house. For further information visit the company’s website at www.centralbean.co.uk. For further information about Sanderson Arcade visit www.sandersonarcade.co.uk
