A feast of Northumberland fare at this weekend’s Morpeth Farmers' Market
29 October 2013
Morpeth’s new look Farmers' Market is back this weekend – with a full line up of almost 30 producers from across the region.
After last month’s successful re-launch the November market will take place this Saturday from 9am to 3pm in the town’s market place.
A delicious range of local cheese, meat, bread and home-baked cakes will be available from the smart new blue and white “More in Morpeth” branded stalls, which were unveiled at the October Farmer’s Market alongside the town’s first Food and Drink Festival.
Among the traders at this weekend’s market will be JR Jams, Jimmy the Lamb Man and the Great Northumberland Bread Company - Vine’s Cookie Company will also be there as well as a host of other great local producers.
Organisers are also preparing for December’s Christmas Farmers' Market which will take place on Saturday December 7th.
Morpeth Market Manager Neil Brown said: “We have had some great feedback from the launch event last month about the new stalls as well as from our traders and shoppers at the Wednesday Market.
“The launch was a great way to showcase the fantastic producers we have at Morpeth Farmer’s Market and we have a really great line up at the market this weekend as well.”
New stalls and branding as well as anchor points and a local marketing campaign have been introduced at the market as part of the unique public-private partnership initiative between Morpeth Town Council, Northumberland County Council, Morpeth Town Team and Sanderson Arcade.
Up to date info on the market and details of the producers can be found on the new dedicated Markets page of the More in Morpeth website http://www.moreinmorpeth.co.uk/markets.php
