Countdown to more stores opening at Sanderson Arcade
6 April 2021
The team at Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth are preparing for more of the centres stores and businesses to reopen from next Monday. (April 12th)
The centre’s key essential retailers have traded through the third national lockdown – including the M&S, Home Bargains, Pets at Home and Martin McColls and Vision Express.
Morpeth's weekly market and monthly Farmers’ Market has also traded with a line-up of essential traders, proving a popular way for local people to shop safely whilst supporting independent businesses.
JoJo Maman Bebe and Next has operated a click and collect service and Central Bean reopened in February for takeaway only.
On Monday (April 12th) the lockdown easing will see more stores at the Arcade opening their doors to customers for the first time since December.
Non-essential stores will be permitted to reopen to shoppers as well as gyms, hairdressers and beauty salons.
April 12th will also see the Arcade opening up outdoor hospitality with Morpeth Larders out-door terrace open and additional seating in the piazza for Central Bean.
Businesses including Sandersons Boutique Department Store, Fat Face, Mint Velvet, Hobbs and Seasalt will all reopen at Sanderson Arcade.
The centre’s brand-new Snap Fitness gym will open its doors to members this Summer, date yet to be confirmed.
It is hoped that restaurants and cafes will open to indoor diners from May 17th. In the meantime shoppers will be able to sit outside under the rule of six or the new two households rule.
Centre Manager at Sanderson Arcade, Lottie Thompson said: “We have been working closely with all our stores here at the centre to ensure a smooth and safe return to trading and we can’t wait to welcome back more of our stores and of course our customers.
